You mention that community is tied to one location. While I'd agree that it makes it easier, I want to push back a little. In my experience, community is more closely tied to a consistent group of people doing life with you. I've had friends who've been part of my life in multiple different locations, and we shared a sense of community through it all. I think of various wandering groups, from the children of Israel to Mennonites entering West Berlin, who still has a sense of community even without a fixed or permanent location. Do you think that a fixed or permanent location is a requirement for community?

Hmm. Good point. I guess you could have a community of people traveling together. I guess that means that community is anchored to a group of people rather than a place. In fact, the Hutterite community was birthed while they were traveling. Or I think of Paul and his traveling band of people who wandered all over Europe and Asia Minor. Thanks for bringing that out
